New Upscale Public Courses in 1997
Entrada
at Snow Canyon boasts a variety of beautiful
vistas as well as great challenges for any golfer.
The course meanders through a series of changing
landscapes. From unique desert beauty to a valley
of lakes and natural wetlands to its own lava
flow, Entrada is truly a feast for the eyes. The
finishing holes on the back nine are routed
through a black lava flow, appropriately named the
"devil's triangle." The course accentuates the
wonderful mix of contrasting colors - rich red
soil, golf course green, black lava, blue
waterways and native wildflowers - against the
magnificent red and white rock cliffs of Snow
Canyon. View Photos

The
rolling banks on both sides of the Jordan River
offer not only stunning visual appeal to
Thanksgiving Point, but also provide for many
intriguing, challenging and strategic golf shots
to its fairways and greens. Nestled around the
site of the 80 acre Estate Gardens at
Thanksgiving Point, the golf course is as much a
walk in the park as it is a challenge to golfers
of all skill levels. Thanksgiving Point is long
and hilly with 5 tees on every hole. It provides
some breathtaking views of the Jordan River and is
90% secluded with the help of over 10,000 mature
trees. It is clearly the prime U.S. Open type venue in Utah.

Nines

The
existing washes and arroyos provide dramatic
visual appeal for the golf course at The Badlands.
Thousand of years of watershed runoff from the
mountains created a wonderful canvas for our
course design. With this natural landscape, we
were able to route most of the holes along the
natural cliffs and through the small gorges and
depressions of the property. Clearly the finished
'painting' is something very special. Shortly
after its opening, Golf Digest placed The Badlands
among the top ten courses in the State of Nevada.
Among golfers polled in Las Vegas at that time, it
was the most popular golf course to play. View Photos
Binks
Forest - Wellington, Florida
Par 72 Yardage

When completed Binks Forest was ranked in the Top 75 Public Golf Courses in the
United States by Golf Digest.
Completed
in 1990 within flourishing groves of majestic
pine, Binks Forest immediately achieved a
stature as a "must play" golf course. Chosen as
the site of the PGA TOUR's Team Championship for 1990, the
course was both a visual delight and a challenge.
In contrast to the wide-open fairways so common to
courses in South Florida, Binks Forest presented an
aesthetic challenge of tree-lined fairways, true
dog-leg holes and greens of remarkable subtlety.
The design emphasized the natural hazards - the
trees rather than the proliferation of water
hazards and 'OB' stakes too often found in
Florida. View Photos
Harmony Golf Preserve - Harmony, Florida

This championship signature course preserves the natural setting of the Harmony milieu.
“When the Johnny Miller design team was approached to design
the Harmony Golf Preserve, a Johnny Miller Signature Golf Course Design, the
goal was to see the creation of a championship golf course within the wide
expanse of the Harmony community while preserving its pristine, native
character of 11,000 acres of broad meadows, towering stands of southern pines
and two shimmering 500-acre natural lakes. At 7,425 yards. Miller and his design team created a
stunning combination of outstanding shot values with an aesthetic ambience and
nature at its best." View Photos

Brighton Crest Golf & Country Club - Fresno, California

"We worked around historical Native American sites which confirmed that the Indians as well as the owner/developer knew how to pick a great site"
Brighton Crest was an unsually wonderful property to work with given the sculpted rock outcroppings, the mature oaks and the fabulous vista of Nillerton Lake. This course is a strong one - designed for championship play while remaining very playable for all levels of golf. Two years in the development, Brighton Crest opened for play in 1990. Set amidst the oak-studded foothills of Central California, the course has been hailed as one of the most spectacular in California. Presenting a diverse array of tees and greens, challenging bunkers and lakes, the course design is noteworthy for its sensitivity to the natural surroundings.
Due Process - Colts Neck, New Jersey

"Due Process is a wonderful property."
" It provided us with a magnificient canvas to work with including exposed natural grasslands and a variety of beatiful trees. By connecting with the land and its natural state, we saw a unique, creative variety of golf holes emerge. The feeling on the site was that we were fortunate to be there. Very simply, it's a golf course you feel privileged to play. Duw Process is a very special golf course - one of the best I'll probably ever be involved with"
Whitney Oaks - Rocklin, California
Par 72 Yardage 6,920
"Whitney Oaks is a wonderful property."
"On our first visit to the site the land spoke to us, making it clear that a championship golf course belonged there. In its natural setting it had all the features you would ever want in a golf course. There are huge granite boulders, beatiful oak trees and several holes featuring native grasses with a meadow-lile appearance reflecting a soft, velvety feel. The par threes are as good as any I've seen. And it has some tempting par fives that will entice you to gamble and go for them intwo. Whitney Oaks is clearly a championship course in every sense of the word." View Photos
